Gateshead appears to be the place to be for reggae festivals lately in the UK and this summer they present...

Jamaican and UK reggae living legends sing the songs we know and love from the late great Robert Nestor Marley, other reggae greats and offer some of their own individual songs. Performers include the ‘Queen of Lovers’ Rock’, Janet Kay, famous for her number one smash 'Silly Games'; Michael Prophet, from the stable of Yabby You and King Tubby at Channel One studios and one of the most enduring singers to emerge from the roots era; Earl 16 who started out at Studio One and has created crossover reggae vibrations with the UK's Dreadzone and Leftfield; Prince Malachi, the new cultural roots messenger; and the sweet voice of Winston Reedy, lead singer of the Cimerons and a big hit at Boss Sounds 2007.
