This is a collection of 18 tracks, available via download only, featuring some of the biggest names in reggae past and present. I am not familiar with any of Suga Roy and Conrad Crystal previous work, if indeed there is any but they certainly seem to have friends in high places as they pull names like Big Youth, U-Roy, Gyptian, Beenie Man & Barrington Levy to name but a few in joining them for some re-workings of old songs and riddims. There is however a feel that these were not recorded live with everybody in the studio at the same time and indeed in the case of Denis Brown blatantly obvious, but the considerate and tasteful working on “Jah Can Do It” does make this one of the stand out tracks from the set. Other notable performances are with the Mighty Diamonds on "Police and Bad Boy Strap" were their ragga style chant of the duo works very well with crystal clear harmonies of the Diamonds, the classic dancehall of "She Call Mi Phone" with Beenie Man & Barrington Levy and "Mama Say", which sees Marcia Griffiths & Tashina adding some classy feminine refinement. Also worth a mention is "Youth Dem A Cry" were Suga and Conrad step out on their own in a rub-a-dub style like the classic duos of old.
Not all the collaborations always hit the mark but tunes like the iconic "Harder They Come" will be very hard to better. There is though more than enough here to please and I think they have shown that they are talented enough to push on in their own style next time.
